Marketing & Fundraising Projects

Human Resources Projects

Help us remain a supportive and forward-thinking workplace.

Current projects include:

• Comprehensive employee benefits review
• Employee handbook updates
• HR policy and practice enhancements

We welcome HR professionals who can help us stay aligned with evolving best practices while supporting a family-friendly, pet-friendly, and hybrid workplace culture.

Facilities Projects

Help maintain and improve the space where our mission comes to life.

Our offices are in a converted two-story home in downtown Keene, and we regularly undertake projects that improve and maintain our facility. 

Projects may include:

• Landscaping
• Painting
• Light carpentry
• Plumbing
• Building improvements and maintenance

We also welcome professionals who can help assess facility needs, identify project solutions, develop scopes of work, and assist with vendor selection and project planning.

Community Fundraising Projects

Some of our most passionate volunteers help strengthen community philanthropy.

Opportunities may include:

• Thank-you calls to donors
• Gift reminder calls
• Peer-to-peer fundraising
• Introducing new supporters to United Way
• Serving as an ambassador in the community

Office Projects

Support the day-to-day operations that help Monadnock United Way serve our community.

Volunteers provide valuable assistance with projects that keep our work running smoothly. Opportunities vary throughout the year and may include administrative support, event preparation, mailings, data entry, organizing materials, and other office-related projects.

These opportunities are ideal for individuals who want to contribute in a flexible, meaningful way while gaining a behind-the-scenes look at the impact of United Way's work. 

Our committees provide expertise, guidance, and community connections that help advance our mission. Committee service is also one of the most common pathways to deeper involvement with United Way leadership.

Finance Committee

Help strengthen the financial stewardship that supports our mission.

Our Finance Committee meets approximately 10-12 times each year in partnership with the Director of Finance. We welcome professionals with expertise in accounting, auditing, investments, internal controls, nonprofit finance, and financial management.

We also seek volunteers with strengths in data analysis and donor database insights who can help identify trends, opportunities, and recommendations that strengthen both organizational performance and fundraising efforts. 

Governance Committee

Help build the leadership that will guide our community's future.

The Governance Committee plays a pivotal role in the long-term success of Monadnock United Way. Members help recruit, onboard, engage, and retain exceptional board and committee members from across the region.

We're looking for people who enjoy connecting talented individuals with meaningful opportunities and who have strong regional networks. Volunteers with experience in governance are also needed to help review bylaws, update policies, and strengthen board practices. Committee members also help preserve healthy board-staff partnerships and support leadership development across the organization.

Fundraising & Marketing Committee

Help elevate our visibility, strengthen donor engagement, and inspire community investment.

Committee members provide strategic guidance and creative insights that help drive awareness, fundraising, and community impact. Members contribute ideas, connections, and expertise in marketing, communications, public relations, fundraising, and community engagement.

This committee is ideal for professionals who enjoy both strategic thinking and hands-on collaboration.

Investment and Mini-Grant Teams  

Help direct local investments that strengthen our region.

Investment and Mini-Grant Team members visit local nonprofits and collaborative initiatives, review funding applications, evaluate outcomes, and help determine grant awards. Volunteers gain first-hand insight into community needs and solutions while helping ensure resources are invested where they can have the greatest impact.

Day of Caring & Team Volunteer Projects

Monadnock United Way connects employee teams, school groups, community organizations, faith communities, and other groups with meaningful volunteer opportunities through our partner agencies and community partners.

Whether you're seeking a one-day volunteer experience, an annual service project, participation in Day of Caring, or ongoing quarterly team-building opportunities, we can help identify projects that match your group's interests, skills, and availability.

Group volunteer opportunities can include outdoor projects, facility improvements, special events, community beautification efforts, nonprofit support projects, and more.
