Monadnock Food Pantries Collective

Mission, Vision, and Values Statement for MFPC

Vision Statement

A healthy, food-secure Monadnock Region where all people have access to the nutritious food they need—shared with dignity, supported by collaboration, and strengthened by a resilient network of local resources.

Mission Statement

The Monadnock Food Pantries Collective is a collaborative network of regional food pantries working together to reduce food insecurity by sharing food, knowledge, and resources. Through sustainable partnerships, we strive to provide and maintain dignified access to nutritious food and create lasting impact in our communities.

Core Values

  • Trust & Dignity: We honor the dignity of every individual and build trust through respectful, compassionate service.
  • Collaboration: We believe in the power of shared resources and collective action to amplify our impact.
  • Knowledge Sharing: We strengthen our network through the open exchange of ideas, experiences, and information.
  • Sustainability: We aim for long-term, adaptive solutions to food insecurity that promote health and self-reliance.
  • Nutrition: We prioritize access to healthy, nourishing food that supports overall well-being.

Too many of our neighbors don’t know where their next meal is coming from, and many more are unable to access healthy, nutritious food due to affordability or accessibility. We’re committed to helping all kids and families thrive by making access to healthy food a priority through investment in the Monadnock Food Pantries Collective.

The Monadnock Food Pantries Collective was formed in 2019 to provide equitable access to a variety of quality food items, fresh produce, and easy access to information about support services to clients across the Monadnock Region. The Collective began with seven partners and expanded to eight in 2023.

The Collective includes the following pantries:

  • The Community Kitchen (Keene)
  • Joan’s Pantry (Chesterfield)
  • The Federated Church Food Pantry (Marlborough)
  • Helping Hands of Troy
  • Jaffrey Food Pantry
  • Kidz Cupboard (Marlborough)
  • Rindge Food Pantry
  • St Vincent de Paul Society

In 2024 the Collective:

  • Served 23 towns and 44,664 visits to the pantries in 2024
  • Served 687,227 meal equivalents*
  • The Collective continues to develop a robust food-sharing system

*meal equivalents are calculated on a weight measurement of 1.2 lbs per meal. For example, in 2024, The Community Kitchen alone provided 518,389 lbs of food, translating to roughly 427,824 meals.
