Financial Stability Services

MUW has several partnerships that help it meet the basic needs of its community members.

2-1-1 NH

2-1-1 NH is a unique help-by-telephone service made available for FREE to New Hampshire and national residents year-round, 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Every hour of every day, someone needs access to essential services, such as finding assistance for food, housing, child care or help for your aging parent. Also, many need resources and support for other complex issues such as financial problems, mental health, substance abuse, intervention, and suicide prevention; and simpler issues such as volunteer opportunities and donation options. 2-1-1 can help.

It is an easy-to-remember telephone number that connects callers, at no cost, to information about critical health and human services available in our community. 2-1-1 NH is dedicated to improving the lives of thousands of New Hampshire citizens every year and to serving as a lifeline to many in their hour of greatest need. Residents in New Hampshire can contact 2-1-1 NH toll-free by dialing 2-1-1 in state or 1-866-444-4211 from out of state.

SingleCare is a unique national grassroots community initiative that offers free prescription assistance to millions of Americans.

The initiative, in partnership with Monadnock United Way, is dedicated to reducing the cost of prescription medicine for individuals and families through distribution of free prescription savings cards. The SingleCare cards may be used by anyone in need and are provided free through Monadnock United Way. The average discount is 40 percent and is sometimes as much as 75 percent or more — similar to what pharmacies give the largest insurance companies and employers. Since 2005, SingleCare has helped nearly 7 million people get medicine they otherwise could not afford, which accounts for close to $700 million in direct savings on prescriptions.

To use the SingleCare -United Way Card, consumers give the card to their pharmacists every time a prescription is needed and discounts are automatically applied. The SingleCare card is accepted at more than 60,000 pharmacies nationwide, including CVS, Walgreens, Rite Aid, Kmart, Target and Walmart.
