Monadnock United Way Launches a Strategic Plan Refresh to Enhance Community Well-being
Keene, NH— Monadnock United Way (MUW) is excited to announce a refresh of its Strategic Plan. The plan addresses important factors that contribute to community well-being: Children, Education, and Financial Stability. Built on Collective Impact principles, the plan demonstrates MUW’s ongoing dedication to mobilizing community support and resources to drive positive, lasting change.
"Our region has something very special: we are committed to joining together to build a future where everyone, everywhere can thrive," said Liz LaRose, president at MUW. "People across the Monadnock Region know that when we come together for good, we are greater. This strategic plan reflects our community’s desire to engage in activities and support solutions that have meaningful impact on people in their towns and neighborhoods.”
The Strategic Plan Refresh reinforces MUW’s commitment to:
- Enhancing Focus Areas: Deepening efforts in supporting Children, Education, and Financial Stability.
- Promoting Community and Culture: Equitably allocating resources, fostering authentic conversations, and listening to community voices.
- Investing in People: Developing models for equitable engagement of staff, board members, and volunteers.
In 2016, MUW’s Strategic Plan outlined several ambitious goals:
- Leveraging financial resources and support in and outside of our region
- Funding high-impact and research-based initiatives
- Championing diverse collaborations and encouraging innovative practices
- Advocating for those in need
- Mobilizing community engagement
In the years since, MUW has made great progress, as highlighted in its Community Impact Reports, available at www.muw.org/cir. These reports showcase numerous successes, including expanded access to essential services such as fresh food and emergency housing, innovative initiatives like Babies at Work and the Pyramid Model, and the establishment of impactful coalitions like the Monadnock Resource Alliance Housing Collaborative and NH’s Early Childhood Region 1.
“The ability to achieve this success is directly related to the community’s support of our annual campaign, over $2.45 in grants attracted to this region, and the guidance of our board and staff leadership,” said LaRose.
Michelle DellaVita, MUW Board Chair expressed her gratitude to the members of the planning committee who dedicated many hours to ensure that the plan built upon the MUW’s vision, mission, and values. "Strategic planning is our compass for navigating toward a brighter future. It reflects our commitment to continuous improvement and our dedication to meeting the evolving needs of our community,” stated DellaVita. "We eagerly anticipate the opportunities ahead to continue to collaborate with our community and create pathways for everyone to thrive in the Monadnock Region," she emphasized.
