Katie Gardella

 

My job is to set goals and implement strategies to raise funds for Monadnock United Way! Before joining MUW, I was a fundraising consultant for many years. Prior to that, I worked with many different types of nonprofits as a staff member.

 

I have lived in the area since 2003. I live in Jaffrey with my husband, Peter Straus, and our two kitties Pierre and Aster. Outside of work, I cook, bake, read and do the New York Times crossword puzzle. I’m also highly experienced as an armchair naturalist. 

  

FIRST VOLUNTEER POSITION: It was for a program called PAL (People Animals Love) in Washington, D.C.. I took my (somewhat crotchety) cat to visit with patients in hospitals and nursing homes. It was so touching to see the joy that all the animals in the program brought to the patients and residents.
