Monadnock Region Auto Dealers Unite for Monadnock United Way
Dealerships engage in friendly competition to raise funds together

Keene, NH – Auto Dealers across the region are joining forces to raise funds for Monadnock United Way’s annual fundraising campaign. They are staging a joint fundraising campaign called “Auto Dealerships Unite for United Way.”

The dealerships, including AUTEX, each of the Fenton Family Dealerships, Keene Chrysler Dodge Jeep RAM, Monadnock Ford, Noyes Volkswagen and Fairfield's Cadillac Buick GMC, are competing for the chance to tour the Ames’ Automotive Museum in Marlborough. The museum features more than 90 cars on display, spanning 100 years of automotive history. The tour is being donated by Steve and Joan Ames.

“The auto dealerships in the Monadnock region are known for their generosity and commitment to our community,” said Monadnock United Way President Liz LaRose. “They sponsor events, participate in service clubs, sit on local boards and donate to a multitude of regional nonprofits. This friendly competition to raise funds for Monadnock United Way is yet another example of their deep commitment to the vibrancy of people living in this region.”

The campaign competition is simple. Auto dealerships will run their workplace campaigns through Nov. 30. The dealership with the highest percentage of donors will win the tour.

“This provides a level playing field so that all dealerships have an equal chance to win,” said LaRose.

Larry Monson, General Manager of Keene Chrysler Dodge Jeep RAM, said: “As major businesses in the region, we believe that leading by giving back to the community is important. Getting together in this way brings excitement to each of our campaigns and ultimately helps the programs that Monadnock United Way supports.”

Steve Ames of the Ames Automotive Foundation said, “Our foundation is proud to participate by offering a tour to the lucky dealership. We wish each of dealerships the best of luck.”

About the Ames Automotive Foundation
Ames Automotive Foundation is proud to present more than 90 cars on display, spanning 100 years of automotive history. Most of these cars are completely original, including tires and paint, and typically have fewer than 10,000 miles on the odometer. The rest are high quality restorations of rare “one of” cars. Steve and his wife, Joan, created the Ames Automotive Foundation in 2016 to allow future generations to have the opportunity to learn how the workers could assemble these cars in a matter of hours on a moving assembly line. This Foundation will allow these extraordinary vehicles to live on for years to come.

About Monadnock United Way
Monadnock United Way is a nonprofit that funds and provides professional support to local programs and initiatives working to support children, improve educational outcomes and help individuals facing financial challenges. Recent research has shown some of the Monadnock region’s most pressing problems are around child neglect, low academic performance and low wages. MUW brings together the organizations already working to solve these problems to best serve people in our region.
