Monadnock United Way hires Sophie Carney-Brenner as Donor Relations Manager

Keene, NH – Sophie Carney-Brenner has joined Monadnock United Way as the Donor Relations Manager. Carney-Brenner’s role will be to grow MUW’s fundraising support throughout our year-long annual campaign, helping to address the region’s most pressing needs for children, education, and financial stability.

Prior to her current position, Carney-Brenner served as the Associate Director of Development at Monadnock Family Services (MFS). During her time at MFS, she actively collaborated on their capital campaign to relocate all Keene-based services to one location on 40 Avon Street in Keene, the former location of Antioch New England. She also focused on expanding their communications efforts.

In joining MUW, Carney-Brenner is dedicated to fostering accessibility for all. She expresses her goal by saying, "I want to ensure that everyone in the community feels they can contribute to MUW, no matter what their budget is, because every dollar makes a difference." With a strong commitment to upholding the mission and values of MUW, Carney-Brenner is enthusiastic about working with the generous Monadnock community, prompting inclusivity and expanding outreach to make a broader impact.

Reflecting on her excitement for joining MUW, Carney-Brenner shares her passion as a mission-driven individual who has always aspired to work in the non-profit sector. With a family background in non-profit work, she sees MUW as a cornerstone organization, expressing a deep honor in contributing to an organization that addresses foundational needs within the community. She appreciates MUW's localized approach to looking within the region’s specific needs to understand and adapt to better serve the community.

Additionally, within the community, Carney-Brenner is involved in Trauma Responsive Monadnock, a local initiative aiming to make the region trauma-informed and responsive, the 2023-2024 Leadership Monadnock cohort, and is a member of the local synagogue, Ahavas Achim.
