A story from right here at home
Marisa is a mother of four with a background in food service. She loved working with children and doubted she could succeed as a teacher, until she joined the Child Development Associate (CDA) certification program and Pyramid Model training.
“I learned better ways to communicate, to calm, to show respect,” she says. “Now, instead of reacting, I get down to their level and ask, ‘What’s going on?’”
Marisa now leads her own classroom, something she once never thought possible. “At first, I was nervous to talk to families. Now I love it,” she says.
Gifts from neighbors like you helped train 250 local educators in the Pyramid Model and helped 60 child care providers advance in the CDA program, opening new child care spaces and classrooms across our region.
