Volunteers Made us Truly Better Together

In 2020, the Monadnock region faced increased adversity, challenges, and changes. We also experienced intense support, teamwork, and collaboration. The volunteers of this region truly made us Better Together. Here are some of the ways they showed up in 2020:

  • In 2019, our Investment Review Team (formerly Allocations) spent over 100 hours reviewing, analyzing, and evaluating all funding applications submitted to MUW from partner agencies for the most effective solutions to support our focus areas of Children, Education, and Financial Stability. This work ensured that MUW partners would have the funding they needed to deliver their essential services in 2020.
  • When the pandemic hit, our partners needed help in numerous unexpected areas. Our area volunteers really stepped up. At times, some food pantries were unable to pick their orders from NH food banks. Homebound seniors and high-risk community members who could not risk exposure were unable to run errands, pick up their prescriptions, or grocery shop. MUW reached out to members of the Keene Young Professionals Network, The Greater Keene Rotaract Club, and the Monadnock Rugby Football Club, who stepped up to assist in these areas. By working together, we were able to get assistance to the folks who needed it most, when they needed it most.
  • Our Campaign Cabinet teams, from the General Campaign Chairs to Loaned Employees to individual solicitors, continued to help MUW raise the much-needed funds for the 2020-21 campaign, ensuring that our nonprofit partners would continue to receive funding in 2021. Without the help of the Campaign Cabinet, we would not be able to raise the amount of funds which we are then able to allocate out to our partner agencies.  Click here for a complete list of our current Campaign Cabinet members.
