Erik has been in the IT and cloud consulting and business development field since 2000, when he joined the local start-up company IniNet. IniNet was then acquired by Symquest, which is now a wholly-owned subsidiary of Konica Minolta. Prior to 2000, Erik ran his own design studio and consulted with McGraw-Hill, Milton Bradley and Northeastern University.
Erik likes to combine right-brain and left-brain strategies. His clients rely on his strategic abilities to uncover hidden connections and find entrepreneurial ways to generate revenue. As a relationship-builder, he attends to the dynamic tensions within communities. He is always looking to optimize community resources and deepen the relationships with donors and stakeholders. Erik has been on several boards, including the Keene Board of Education, Envision Maine and USM Corporate Partners.
Erik’s education includes two years at Tufts University and a BFA degree in design from the School of Visual Arts in New York. He also taught courses for Marlboro College Graduate School.
Erik’s family includes his wife, Joan Murphy, a guidance counselor at Symonds School; Peter Murphy, a recent grad from Northeastern University; and Laura Murphy Enright, a high school teacher and mother to Anna. His family knows that three things keep him going: cycling, walking the Camino and spending time at Lake Spofford.
