Doug has lived in the Monadnock region over most of the last 30 years. He came to the region after doing a medical stint in northern Alaska.
Doug was was a family physician in Keene for 25 years, until 2013, when he returned to graduate school to obtain a Masters in Public Health (global health focus). He then moved to rural Africa where he worked for two years. Doug returned in late 2017 and is now serving as medical director for Maplewood Nursing Home in Westmoreland.
Doug has been active in the community and has board experience with the Waldorf School (VP), Cheshire Medical Center (medical staff president), and previously with MUW (1999- 2005). His professional interests include geriatrics, public health systems and international health. During his leisure time, Doug enjoys hiking, traveling and spending time with family. Doug lives with his wife, Risa, in Sullivan; they have three grown daughters .
