Planned Giving

In thirty or forty years we can be fairly confident that area towns will still have their beautiful village greens. That Mount Monadnock will appear majestically from the morning mist. The lilacs will bloom in the spring and maple trees will turn the hills brilliant colors every fall.

But what about the people? Will our children have camps and playgrounds? Will there be emergency food and shelter available for those who need it? Will the handicapped have access to special training? Will our elderly still have the support services that make such a difference in their lives? Will the victims of domestic violence still receive counsel and support?

The goal of the Monadnock United Way is just that. To make sure that, as long as there are people in this region who need help, it will be available. Always.

The permanent endowment fund of the Monadnock United Way has been managed by the New Hampshire Charitable Foundation (NHCF) since 1987. The fund became part of the initial assets of the Monadnock Community Foundation in 1998. These funds have been permanently restricted and are invested to provide future income. The NHCF also provides confidential planned giving expertise for Monadnock United Way and its donors. Through the help of NHCF, Monadnock United Way is able to accept any type of planned giving vehicle. You can also visit the United Way of America planned giving website to learn more about planned giving techniques.

Income generated by the endowment fund provides income for the Monadnock United Way administrative budget. The goal of the Monadnock United Way is to develop a sufficient endowment to cover the annual operating expenses assuring annual donors that 100% of each gift to the annual campaign will go directly to agency services.
