Operation Flood Recovery

Monadnock United Way  is fortunate to be part of a community of people, agencies and businesses that have strong relationships and a history of collaboration. While a disaster the magnitude of our October 2005 flood had not occurred locally for many years, leaving us without plans and procedures in place, we were able to coordinate a recovery program rapidly, and hit the ground running immediately following the first responders.

Our advice to all United Ways is to build good relationships with your agencies and businesses, work collaboratively everyday so that should a crisis occur you will already be a "team", create a response plan now, but realize that the disaster will not be the one you expect and you will have to make some things up as you go!  Click here to see some of the work our local team has accomplished in response to the October 2005 flood.
